In A Dash

ok so I am about to head out the door to go to class. I have class every afternoon. But only one class per day, Mon-Thur. And then one class on Sat at 12pm. Classes are going well. I still have not done any school work at all! I have not gotten into the school frame of mind at all so far! I need to work on that. I just keep putting it off. Yesterday I cleaned out my whole fish tank. A chore I don't like doing... I have to take out the rocks one by one and scrub them with a toothbrush, and then get a sandcleaner thing out and clean up the sand. Then change the filter, and scrub all the walls of the tank. And last but not least I get to put everything back in and fill it with more water (water gets taken out while cleaning the sand). All in all it takes me usually 2-4 hours! And it's such a small tank! I cannot imagine cleaning a HUGE tank. Although, the bigger the tank the easier it is to take care of. So apparently I am at like pro status in the salt water balance keeping whatever... I want to get some new corals for the tank and maybe even an anemone for my clown fish sometime soon. It would make the tank look so much prettier. Its so dull right now to me. All I have are 4 snails, 2 crabs, and the one clown fish beings that my blue fish died already :( But I really don't like our local aquarium stores water quality. I think thats why my blue fish died. I don't think the couple running it REALLY know what they are doing. Every time I have gone in there for something I have spotted at least one dead fish in a tank. Sad. Plus in their crabs, snails, and shells tanks they have a lot of unwanted little critters and worms and such that they have no interest in taking care of. So that kind of shows me that they don't really care to keep everything clean and healthy, they just want to keep selling stuff. Which is sad. Because I think in the end they will lose customers that would be spending a lot of money there just because they can see that they won't get quality items, or quality care from these people. And I am all for supporting your local couples that try to start things up, I buy my filters and non live things from them. But as far as critters I won't be shopping there anymore. I guess I'll drive out to SF for that. I wish I could go back to my old home fish store in LA. They were the best in every area! I miss those guys and all there salt water wonders! OK well its class time for me! Stay happy :)

Poor fishes :-( That is so sad. Your little blue fish sounded really cute! My neighbor got 5 fishes, and named them after the ninja turtles/their rat leader splinter, and all of them died except for Leonardo! but now she has a really cute bigger fish who is very smart it seems...it comes up to the fish tank and looks at you.

dude Bernie (my old fish) was so smart too! He would swim up to my face when I would go over to the tank. And after I fed him if there was some random leftover shrimp on a rock I would point my finger at it and he would swim over and look in that area for the shrimp! So cute :)
