Still obsessed with teal

Yesterday was Saint Patrick's Day. Unfortunately most people don't do anything on this day, except maybe have beer I am part Irish and have always loved this day. It reminds me of some of my favorite family members. I always wear green. I even have a special emerald green eye-liner that I wear on this one day of the year! This year I even made a special St. Pats necklace with a four leaf clover in the pendant! I like it a lot. I even included one orange bead :) I also make a special Irish dinner every St. Patrick's Day. Corned beef, cabbage, and little red potatoes! It's one of my favorite meals ever. It's such a comfort meal to me. And then we have Irish Car Bombs! It's a Guinness beer plus a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream topped with Irish Whiskey. You take the shot glass and drop it in the beer and immediately start chugging the whole drink. I cannot stand the way carbonation burns my throat, so I only do half a bottle of beer at a time :) So the little pink tea cup is my beer. Its a good drink. But it doesn't top dinner for me.

Today I went running again in the morning. I didn't sleep well last night because I don't take my ambien if I've had any alcohol. Anyways, at the end of my run I treated myself to an iced coffee from Peet's Coffee and Tea I know, I know, the treat has more calories then I burned off in my run. But I am a firm believer in a treat every once in a while. I am not a calorie freak. However I am trying to be careful about how many sweats I have. I like to drink a lot of sweet beverages, and I don't realize how many calories that adds to my day. But like I said, every once in a while is ok :) The weather the past few days has been so nice and sunny with a cool breeze. But when I showered after my run I used a sugar SCRUB and I realized very quickly that I was sunburned! UGH. I never sunburned as a child and in highschool. I only recently started sunburning. So I am not used to having to think about covering up or using sunscreen. Yesterday I even said "I don't really sunburn". So here I am, eating my words! I hate sunburns. After my run I spent some time on the computer browsing Etsy. I found a few cute pipes that this Irish guy carves. It was cool :) Then I decided to get my butt in gear and get my painting supplies out and paint. And I did. Here are three out of the four things that I made today...

The first one, my personal favorite. I love how the teal turned out. I was surprised with how nice the tree branch turned out. I was sure I was going to mess that up somehow! The blossoms were not what I had in mind, but I like them nonetheless.

Next I still had some teal left over, so I made this little painting. I live my day to day life pretty much alone. Sometimes I feel lonely, and sometimes I just love the calmness of being alone. I suppose I just wanted to capture the feeling of solitary.

And last but not least, I wanted to do something a little more light-hearted. A robot. I love robots. They are just adorable, and lovable. So here is mine.

I did paint one more thing. But its not finished yet. So I'll save that for later. I like to paint. But I don't paint very often. I hope I get more in the habit of painting so that I can get better at it :)

Also, this morning I woke up with two cats in bed with me. I don't own any cats. So I was a little startled. The end.

I wish I could celebrate St. Patrick's day with you :-). I love corned beef, cabbage, and red potatoes. It is such a delicious meal! I like how this kind of random holiday is so special to you, and you really make it personal, not just about green beer.

Your paintings are very peaceful! I like them, and the teal is very gorgeous.

That is so funny about the cats in your bed! haha

I giggled a little when I saw your little pink mug. It's something I would drink out of.

I don't get burned easily either, BUT my poor face was fried here in Portugal. UGH! When I asked if anyone brought sunscreen, my father-in-law replied "No. Get over it." Grrr.
I feel your pain. I don't like sunburns.

I have to say, I am sorry about the sunburn, but I started cracking up when I read that because you totally jinxed yourself when you told me "I don't sunburn."

And that little tidbit on the end is funny. And it would be a lil weird reading that if you don't know that you don't own them but you live with them. It was funny nonetheless. : P
