slowly going the way of the buffalo

I have been so bad at blogging lately! Things have been a little busy-ish for me for the past week. I took on the task of making party favor bags for a friends bachelorette party. Since I feel like a bachelorette party is more special then say a birthday party I wanted the party favor bags to be nice. I achieved what I wanted :) I feel like the bags were of good quality. There was one item that I was particularly proud of. It was my green tea sugar scrub! I personally thought that it smelled amazing! I made sure to keep some aside for myself :) I also made a bag for my two blogging friends Shelly and Heaven :) I have been trying to make more bath products then just plain ones. The first soaps that I made were cute, but plain. I have since experimented with adding lots of different things to my soaps. Most have been fails, but that's how you learn! Today I made three new soaps :) The first one had a TON of things added to it. Such as oats, brown sugar, chai tea, molasses, oils, cocoa powder, and cinnamon. The soap smells heavenly, but it scratches! It was too harsh on my hands (I'm delicate). So I decided it would be the perfect foot scrub/soap! The second soap I made has some vanilla rooibos tea in it, some apple, some oils, and some white shimmer powder in the first layer (and its got a light clearish color), the second layer is white, it has some more shimmer in it as well, and it has a small amount of organic unbleached sugar in it for exfoliation. This soap smells so good too! It's a little scratchy as well, but not as bad. Then the third soap I made is really simple. Its a white shea butter soap, I put some white shimmer in it, some sweet orange oil, some lemon oil, some almond oil, and some olive oil. I wanted it to be more moisturizing then the other ones have been. And it kind of is. I think that the actual soap that I use is just a really cleansing so it seems like it washes away even the oils that I add to the soap! I am determined to resolve this. I am also determined to figure out how to make a dupe version of LUSH's porridge soap I am wholeheartedly in love with this soap. Everything about it. I love the scent (so much!), its so so different from any soap I have ever smelled, and in a really good way. I love how moisturizing it is. I love the texture, it's so super silky, but exfoliating at the same time because of the pinhead oats! And the scent seems to linger on my skin throughout the day, which I love. Until I perfect this soap at home I will continue getting it from LUSH. Forever. Speaking of LUSH (when am I not?!?), my cousin and I went there again today! Of course I left with a bag full of goodies :) I get excited about soap. Shelly I cannot wait to visit a LUSH store with you. I think you will be in bathers heaven for sure! Ok so on Friday I was in Roseville at their mall and went to the LUSH inside. The customer service was so bad! They made me feel bad for asking for a sample. How lame. I love my LUSH so much! The people that work there are so cool (HIPPIES!!!), inviting, and generous! I mean I know it's not really them giving me all these wonderful samples, but still. They are always so quick to offer me advice and to demonstrate anything in the store for me. And I mean anything! Plus I don't even have to ask for samples (and practically get shot down!), they offer me some everytime I'm there, even when I don't buy anything. Like today, I got two slices of soap, two shampoo samples, a conditioner sample, and a face mask sample! Thats 6 samples! And I am so sure that if I asked for samples of more things they would give it to me. How crazy is that?!? This place is amazing. So today I mainly went in to get a large tub (no more sample size for me!) of their Curly Wurly shampoo. I have official switched over. And I couldn't be happier. This is the best shampoo I have ever used. It makes my hair look so healthy. And it feels (and smells) great too! But I knew I wanted to get at least one more shower product. Especially since I am almost out of my bars of soap. I still have about half bottles (little tiny bottles) of both of my shower gels. And I have two more bars of my Angles Delight (a Christmas time special) But I wanted something new. I like to use a different soap everyday when I shower and then start over at the first soap once I've cycled through all of them. And right now I only have three different soaps (the bars anyways). So today I decided that what I would do is get really small slices of several soaps to try them out. I am so glad I did! I got so many new soaps for only $12! Tomorrow I plan on recording a vlog showing off my new slices and explaining the different scents and textures. So stay tuned!

Vanessa, you are probably one of the sweetest, most thoughtful and creative persons I have ever met.

I didn't know one could add apples or oats in their soap. It makes sense, but I would have never thought of it.

I'm excited for shopping too! :) LUSH here we come!
